What is one more, maybe we need a bus?

Oh, by the way check out Travis and my Christmas present. It shouldn't arrive till about August.......Hey there are already six what is one more, really?

More snowy pics..............

A very cold christmas indeed.

We have had so much snow this December. It is pretty much melted by now. Here is me and the kids playing out in the snow. Shyane was white washing everyone, then when it happened to her, well she balled like a little girl.

What mom doesn't know won't hurt, right

"Look, mom no hands!"

where was I, I wondered. He sure is cute, though.

This one looks like Kierstin is holding Colby up.

Ok, so I wasn't paying attention to where the kids were or what they were doing and Shyane had gotten a hold of my camera and snapped some shots. Well, later on Travis and I were looking on the camera for something and surprise, look what mom and dad found.

2008 Thorn family Christmas pictures

Surprisingly, this great shot was only our 3rd. Granted, some of the kids look, dazed, cheesy or frozen, but we are all looking the same way and smiling one way or the other. I think I still got it for a woman who is going to be 33 and a mom of "6". LOL

today was surgery day!!!!!

Today Travis and I got up at 1 am and drove to Seattle, to be at the Children's Hospital by 6 am because little Travis needed surgery. He got 4 teeth pulled. Everything went very well and we got home around 5pm. A very long day indeed. He is recovering nicely with 4 big holes in his mouth. We are to just watch closely for the next 24 hours for extended fever. He was a very brave little boy.

more halloween photos

I am barely taller than Shyane, that little stinker. She was standing on her toes and I was doing a Josten and lifting up as high as possible. Next year she will be right there with me. We already share shoes and clothes. Mackenzie and Kierstin are truly sisters I hope they grow up and feel like I feel about mine. Blended families are tough but so amazing at the same time. When the kids are at their mom's it sure is quiet and feels like something is missing.

We had all six kids this year for Halloween. Lets see we have Shyane and Colby as rockstars, Kierstin, a butterfly, Travis, a fireman, Tyler, a penguin, and my personal favorite, Mackenzie, a waitress at Cousins, and Jayden, hum, still trying to figure that out. We went to grandma and grandpa's and had munchies, told scary stories by the bon fire and then went home to go trick or treating around the neighborhood. We got tons of candy and had fun. The trunk or treat was the night before. I didn't get those pic's. It was quite a night for us.

Well another month has come and gone. Time is just whizzing by. I can't believe how life has taken a turn for my family. I am so busy with work, kids, household duties, homework, and still a new marriage, but I love it. A couple of weeks ago, it was spirit week at the elementary so here is a picture of the kids on pajama day. And Shyane before her choir concert, she looked beautiful like always. I sure am having fun learning to juggle so much. Monday and Wednesday are normal days. I get up, get the kids fed and ready for school and send them on their way and continue my day with cleaning, dishes, laundry etc. Tuesday and Thursday up at 5:00 am and to work by 6:45 in the morning and work till about 2. Just in time for school to get out and help with homework and nightly duties. Friday struggle for a sitter, to work by 5 pm and off by 8:30, enough time to get home and get to bed cause work at 7 am Sat. morning, usually till 3 or 4 then get the kids, chill, bed, then church at 10:30 am Sunday and relax till Monday again. Heavenly Father has taught me so much doing all this. I feel sometimes that I don't know how to do it, but I am still learning.

Our anniversary to the Oregon Coast

Here we are at the beach. We had a room on the second floor and this was our deck and our view. It rained the whole time, but still beautiful. We so enjoy it here. We spend most of our time in Astoria and Seaside, checking out thrift stores, antiques, and of course eating. We did get an "old time" photo (time era the 20's) how fun. Travis in a gangster outfit with a Tommy gun. As always time was cut short and we are back to reality. Preparing for Christmas and the Holidays.

One year later

Travis and I saved some of our cake and did the the disgusting tradition of taking a bite. I can't believe it has been a year already. It has been awesome as well as challenging with a blended family. I have struggle spiritually as well, but have been attending church regularly and visiting with my Bishop on a constant basis. I had a meeting last night and he feels that I am ready for full membership again. I had made choices that had me going through a repentance process, but he feels that I am faithful and ready again. I am so grateful for my Savior and his Atonement, that he really loves me.

Shy a beautiful girl

I got a call from the principal at Shyane's school telling me he had Shy in his office. You can imagine my thoughts. He was calling to let me know after reviewing her WASL scores and her work for the past month in classes, he felt that she needed to be moved to honor classes in math and reading. She is at the top of her classes and needs to be challanged academically. I am so proud of her.

first day of school

This is Mackenzie, Kierstin, Travis, and Colby the first day of school. I didn't get Shy in the picture because she has to be out of the house before 7 am to catch the bus. Boy, they are growing so fast. It seems like just yesterday Shy was born. Now she will be 12. And Colby, I can't believe kindergarten. What a good boy he is.

The fun family photo

Having 6 kids is hard, busy, but so much fun. We have 6 very different personalities. Taking a family photo is great. The kids do really well as long as we promise them a goofy picture.

The men in my life

We went to Silverwood in July. Shy is showing her "shakes" after the Corkscrew. Travis and Kenz went on the Panic Plunge. Shy and I chickened out on that one.

This is Travis and I in Astoria, on our honeymoon. We climbed the Astoria, column. 164 stairs up. I thought I was in shape...apparently not. We went and saw the house where "The Goonies" was filmed, Travis said that was his favorite part of the trip. He is soooo cute.
